Hence the 53 before 35 concept. My biggest fear in setting 53 goals to accomplish before I turn 35 was in not being able to come up with 53 things that I wanted to accomplish. Do I really have that many interests? As I started into creating my list, I found that not only do I have that many interests, I also have quite a few things that I'm not interested in that I still want to accomplish (such as hiking to the top of Mt. Timp) - things that I just want to do to be able to say that I've done them. Then there are things that I've always been fascinated with (such as politics and reading important historical documents) but have never gotten around to doing.
The nice thing about having a checklist is that I can actually see what I'm accomplishing. Oh, and the concept of giving rewards when desired results are achieved...it's just nice to check something off that list.
