Setting Goals

In setting goals for myself, I've realized that it's a little harder to set goals when the goal being set is too ambiguous, or too difficult to track.  "Write in my journal" "Read my scriptures" "Eat healthy" "Don't beat up my sister" etc... are all goals that I've set for myself, and while I think those are worthy goals, I've realized that I work a little better when I have a checklist in front of me.
Hence the 54 before 45 concept.  My biggest fear in setting 54 goals to accomplish before I turn 45 was in not being able to come up with 54 things that I wanted to accomplish.  Do I really have that many interests?  As I started into creating my list, I found that not only do I have that many interests, I also have quite a few things that I'm not interested in that I still want to accomplish (such as doing 20 pull-ups) - things that I just want to do to be able to say that I've done them.  Then there are things that I've always been fascinated with (such as politics and reading important historical documents) but have never gotten around to doing.
The nice thing about having a checklist is that I can actually see what I'm accomplishing.  Oh, and the concept of giving rewards when desired results are achieved...it's just nice to check something off that list.
